Coxwoldshire
Coxwoldshire refers to the group of villages which nestle comfortably under the southern edged of the edge of the North York Moors.
These are the villages of Coxwold, Byland with Wass, Husthwaite, and Kilburn. Within the area lie the ruins of Byland Abbey. In Coxwold there is Shandy Hall, the home of Lawrence Sterne, author of Tristram Shandy, the Coxwold pottery and other craft showrooms. Kilburn is famous for the mouseman furniture.
